IRINA ANGLES

Irina Bashuk (a.k.a Irina Angles) is a Ukrainian multidisciplinary artist. She has over 15 years of dance experience. She is fascinated with the forms around her and the forms that her body can create in space. As a choreographer and performer, she is interested in the forms surrounding her and those she can create with her own body, exploring the relationship between modern architecture, interior design, exterior forms, and geometric movement. During her dance path, she won prizes at various contests and competitions; was a participant and judge of different festivals worldwide; performed in different scenes and exhibitions (“BAUHAUS-100”, MoCA); taught others through a “Geometry in our bodies” course; was invited as a speaker on TEDx; collaborated with various brands, such as Harper’s Bazaar and Pandora jewelry.

Irina is keen on searching for the connection between dancing and digital art. Thus, she focuses on collaborative artworks with various visual artists. Her artworks were exhibited at a number of exhibitions worldwide (offline and in the Metaverse). As an artist, Irina wants to inspire more people to be creative in their daily routines. Her main goal is to let people feel Beauty, to find Uniqueness inside and Power to be Free.

“Fear is only as deep as the mind allows” — Japanese Proverb

The artist included in the work the story of her own hero’s journey – a collective hero of people living in war or challenging times. The hero always goes towards the light, trying to escape and survive, to find a place of fulfillment. His path lies through fear, which repeatedly pulls him out of the chosen route. The hero firmly believes in the flame of his power to overcome the darkness, but memories of fear diffuse to his body and dissipates his energy. Under the influence of fear, our desires of the soul can roll back to basic instincts. And there is a threat that fear will win. An international team created the artwork, and through the dancing, sound, light, and visual art delivers the idea of Joy and hope, which the yellow color symbolizes.
