JÁNOS BRÜCKNER

János Brückner graduated at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest (painting, 2012), ELTE University Budapest (language and literature, 2010), Universität der Künste Berlin (Art in Context, 2020). He was research artist at the Newcastle University’s Culture Lab, resident artist at FUTURA Contemporary Art Centre Prague (2013), studio das weisse haus, Wien (2015), MuseumsQuartier Wien (2015), Gallery Municipal, Lisboa (2016) and Accademia d’Ungheria, Roma (2017). Independent curatorial boards awarded his work with a Ludwig Foundation scholarship in 2011, a Derkovits scholarship in 2013, 2014 and 2015, the Smohay Prize in 2016 and the TakeHeart Residency Grant at HAU Berlin in 2022.

• remake of a 90’s pop song

Sin With Me! is a remake of a 90s pop song with the same title, by the Hungarian boy band V-Tech. Mudboy, which was invented in a collaboration with We Didn’t Do It! Crew, is the complete opposite of civilization: it’s an awkward, dirty creature, thus able to carry these raw moments of ecstasy with a hint of dark eroticism.
